In today’s world, products have been failing at an alarmingly high rate, making organizations find their doom as well. Organizations need to build flexible and adaptable strategies that can be executed to adapt to the new markets. The relationship between projects and strategies are changing and therefore the execution approaches need to change as well. Projects enable products to be developed and delivered to the hands of the customer, while products in return align and enable strategies to grow businesses and make them produce results. Organizations need project managers to work with product owners and managers to understand how, through iterative project approaches, products a will deliver value to customers and benefits to the organization.

This workshop will help you manage projects from the perspective of product development. We will introduce the strategy implementation circle showing the role of projects and products in support of an organization in strategy execution and implementation. The workshop will highlight the need for organizations to use an iterative approach to project execution for product development. We will explain ways to reduce complexity in the workplace and how to use value systems to reduce waste on the project and product lifecycles. The exercises during the workshop will include strategy execution canvas, product backlog, waste elimination, and value stream map. These exercises will show participants how to align the needs of the organization to the needs of the customer and make organizations link their strategic objectives to the value they offer to customers.

What You'll Learn:

• Identify strategy execution principles and approaches
• Design the iterative project execution approach to support continuous product development and improvement
• Analyze processes and find ways to reduce waste
• Describe the value that products deliver to customers, through projects
