The Global Celebration of Service is on, and our chapter is participating!

While many exciting events and activities will take place this year to commemorate PMI’s 50th Anniversary, the Global Celebration of Service is truly the cornerstone of the festivities, embodying the spirit of giving back that PMI has always been about. Our goal is to engage PMI chapters, members, volunteers and credential holders to get involved in service projects that support the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals—a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. PMI volunteers and staff on hand at LIVPM were the very first to participate in this initiative, contributing 345 hours toward our ultimate goal of 50,000 hours pledged by the end of 2019. See PMI colleagues sharing their excitement here.

In recognition of our 20th anniversary celebration, the Lakeshore Ontario Chapter has selected a variety of social good initiatives that everyone can be involved in. Details of each initiative are below. If you’d like to be part of these projects, email us @ and let us know where you can help.

OPERATION SMILE – Add a photo booth to the 20th anniversary Gala and have attendees get their picture taken at the event. Proceeds to be donated to Operation Smile.

BRUCE TRAIL REHABILITATION – This is part of an annual cleanup campaign along the Bruce Trail. Combine clean up with a family picnic at a local park. The objective here is to engage members and their families.

REDUCE INEQUALITY FOR KIDS – This initiative is to provide sporting opportunities for indigenous kids. Focus will be on women with children who live in shelters.
