Emotional Effectiveness for Project Managers – Session 1 – Introduction to EI Principles
Session 2 – Empathy and its Applications

As a Project Manager your world looks like a storm of constant and continuous change. The advent of EI will have a crucial impact on the profession, automating activities we used to do like gathering data, assessing it, and using it to drive decisions and actions. So, what does that leave us? A lot, in fact. And it all comes down to motivating ourselves and others to generate the best possible results through our projects, through enhanced emotional intelligence, the learned ability to sense, evaluate and leverage emotions to achieve better project outcomes. We aren’t born with EI, and there’s nothing magical about it. We increase our Emotional Intelligence through deliberate observation of ourselves and others and reflection on how we can improve the skills we need to master to be superlative delivery agents. This is the first of 4 sessions which provide attendees with an in-depth understanding of what emotionally intelligent Project Management looks like and how to grow the skills you need to develop. Each session is a mix interactive lecture time with a full workshop component.

The series aligns with the Leadership element of the PM Talent Triangle and

Part 1 provides attendees with the following:

  • A solid Introduction to Emotional Intelligence and its core facets
  • Clarity on how EI affects and enhances our abilities as PMs
  • Awareness of the emerging impact of Artificial Intelligence on the profession and how EI can help us to continue to be effective in delivering outstanding project results

Part 2 provides attendees with the following:

- An in-depth review of Empathy and how this observation-based skill can transform how we engage with the increasingly complex variety of stakeholders we work

- Advanced Listening Skills for PMs

- Working out of the principles in a scenario recognizable to all PMs.
