SATURDAY MEETING AGENDA

YES, our business environment is constantly changing. Don’t be caught unprepared.  Career planning is a necessary, on-going, evolving activity. A job search strategy plays a key role in successfully moving you along your career path.

Are you currently looking for YOUR dream job? Would you like to learn how to create and deliver YOUR value proposition statement (elevator pitch) confidently?  Would you like to learn some tips and techniques, which are effective for working with clients, and during job search?

Please join us for an interactive job search overview.  It will re-energize you to go forward with POWER and an inspired strategy, a strong preparation approach, a plan, and enhanced confidence and determination.

The experience will provide insights on various related topics, useful tips, practical approaches, networking, and practice sessions.  

Please feel free to bring your resume with you for your personal use.  We will not be focusing on resumes (only on the fact that one is needed for job search).

The workshop will:

  •  Focus on how to prepare for job search and move forward

  •  Provide a framework for an integrated job search plan

  •  Help you re-energize your “inner power”

Strengthen your relationship building and networking techniques.

 

SPEAKER - Barb Agard-Raymond, PMP

Barb is an inspirational speaker, corporate trainer and a change management coach. She has a passion for helping people to get what they need to fulfil their goals.


Throughout her career and life experiences one of the things, which remained constant with Barb, is her distinctive ability to connect with others. Her ability to listen to people and understand their challenges is inspiring to her clients. Her coaching and consulting help individuals, organizations and communities to engage with positive energy and determination to do the work required. She has a strong reputation for paying special attention to risk and people change management.


Barb has a diverse background with extensive experience in speaking, coaching, training, facilitating, organizational consulting, strategy development, PMOs and project management. Barb is a Business Management and Marketing graduate from Ryerson University and has a PMP from the Project Management Institute.

Her career includes working in Financial Services, Retail and Government industries. Barb is also a continuous learner and a passionate volunteer who is no stranger to change and, she embraces it with an open mind.

Lecture Theatre #2072, W.G. Davis Building (previously known as the South Building) -- the entrance is across the road from the Recreation, Athletic & Wellness Centre. If using paid parking lot #8, go up main staircase or take elevator at far end of hall to the 2nd floor. The entrance is by the back door if using paid parking lot #9.

Registration and cancellation deadlines are 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

Continuing the registration process constitutes acceptance of the Cancellation Policy:

PMI Lakeshore's Cancellation Policy

PMI Lakeshore reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrolment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If PMI Lakeshore cancels an event, registrants will be provided a full refund.

If a registrant has to cancel their event registration:

1. All registered attendees are required to notify the PMI Lakeshore Chapter of any cancellations by sending an e-mail message to cancel@pmi-lakeshore.org with your cancellation request. To expedite your cancellation, please include the transaction ID number from your receipt or the event code/program number that starts with "C193" in your request.

2. Unless specifically stated on event materials, the cancellation deadline is as follows:

•  Dinner Meeting - by 5:00 p.m. five (5) business days prior to the event.
•  Professional Development Event – by 5:00 p.m. three (3) business days prior to the event.

       ****** Note: Late cancellations forfeit payments. No refunds. ****** 3. Cancellations received prior to the cancellation deadline will be eligible to receive a full refund, less an administration fee determined by the board for that event type.
4. Refund of a registration paid by a personal or corporate credit card will be handled as follows:

•  If the registration has not been processed, the registration request will be cancelled.
•  If the registration has been processed, the credit card account used for the original registration will be credited for the registration amount, less the administration fee equal to 6% of the amount billed rounded off to the nearest dollar, within 30 days of the event. 
5. Refund of a registration paid by personal or corporate cheque will be handled as follows:

•  If the cheque has not been processed, the cheque will be voided and returned to sender. 

•  If the cheque has been processed, a refund cheque will be mailed, less the administration fee of equal to 6% of the amount billed rounded off to the nearest dollar, within 30 days of the event. Cancellations received after the stated cancellation deadline will not be eligible for a refund. After the deadline, the chapter has purchased a non-refundable meal and/or printed materials on your behalf. 

Event Photograph Policy

The C193 Chapter of the Project Management Institute (“PMIC193”) reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by PMIC193, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. PMIC193 may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by PMIC193 including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.

By participating in or attending a PMI event or by failing to notify PMI, by answering the registration questions, your desire to not have your photograph used by PMI, you are agreeing to release, defend, hold harmless and indemnify PMI from any and all claims involving the use of your picture or likeness.
