“Waterfall. Agile. What's Next?"

SATURDAY MEETING AGENDA

Waterfall methodology has been criticized for more than a decade now. However, is it really a complete evil? At the same time, Agile methodology has become so pervasive, but is it really a panacea?

In this educational session the audience will be taken on a journey of interactive reassessment of pros and cons for both methodologies. Through a role-play game, every participant will have plenty of opportunities to learn in moments of fun and enjoyment. Participants will enhance their knowledge on project management methodologies, and will be invited into a discussion on what post-agile methodology would look like.

This interactive presentation is designed to inspire those who hates roadblocks, problems in their day to day work and want to become creative Project Managers.

SPEAKER - Vitaliy Fursov


Vitaliy Fursov is a fellow PMP and a professional public speaker. Vitaliy developed a series of workshops to help people understand how to build winning strategies and to choose winning solutions for any situation in life. Vitaliy was a keynote speaker and a workshop provider at the First International Forum on Project Management in Moscow, Russia in December 2009; keynote speaker at the educational forum for Latino Project Management Network (LPMN) of Toronto in November 2012, a workshop provider at Canada's Technology Triangle Chapter in October 2014, a workshop provider at PMI Lakeshore Chapter in 2014 and 2015, and a keynote speaker at 10th IPM Day Seminar at PMI New Jersey Chapter in November 2015.

Continuing the registration process constitutes acceptance of the Cancellation Policy:

PMI Lakeshore's Cancellation Policy

PMI Lakeshore reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrolment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If PMI Lakeshore cancels an event, registrants will be provided a full refund.

If a registrant has to cancel their event registration:

1. All registered attendees are required to notify the PMI Lakeshore Chapter of any cancellations by sending an e-mail message to cancel@pmi-lakeshore.org with your cancellation request. To expedite your cancellation, please include the transaction ID number from your receipt or the event code/program number that starts with "C193" in your request.

2. Unless specifically stated on event materials, the cancellation deadline is as follows:

      •  Dinner Meeting - by 5:00 p.m. five (5) business days prior to the event.
• Professional Development Event – by 5:00 p.m. three (3) business days prior to the event.

3. Cancellations received prior to the cancellation deadline will be eligible to receive
a full refund, less an administration fee determined by the board for that event type.
4. Refund of a registration paid by a personal or corporate credit card will be
handled as follows:
     •  If the registration has not been processed, the registration request will be cancelled.
• If the registration has been processed, the credit card account used for the original registration will be credited for the registration amount, less the administration fee equal to 6% of the amount billed rounded off to the nearest dollar, within 30 days of the event.
5. Refund of a registration paid by personal or corporate cheque will be handled as follows:
     •  If the cheque has not been processed, the cheque will be voided and 
         returned to sender. 
• If the cheque has been processed, a refund cheque will be mailed, less the administration fee of equal to 6% of the amount billed rounded off to the nearest dollar, within 30 days of the event. Cancellations received after the stated cancellation deadline will not be eligible for a refund. After the deadline, the chapter has purchased a non-refundable meal and/or printed materials on your behalf.
Event Photograph Policy

The C193 Chapter of the Project Management Institute (“PMIC193”) reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by PMIC193, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. PMIC193 may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by PMIC193 including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.

By participating in or attending a PMI event or by failing to notify PMI, by answering the registration questions, your desire to not have your photograph used by PMI, you are agreeing to release, defend, hold harmless and indemnify PMI from any and all claims involving the use of your picture or likeness.
