REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The PMI Lakeshore Chapter will be holding an Agile Certification Practitioner (ACP) Exam Preparation Course on May 30, 31 & June 1, 2018. This course is being offered to our members by Ori Schibi MBA, PMP, PMI-PBA, Cert.APM, SMC, PMI-ACP with Procept Associates Ltd., which is a premier provider of professional agile training programs.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Whether in government or private industry, project managers face a huge challenge when confronted with continually changing requirements. How can you plan when the things keep changing? Traditional project management approaches suggest that we take a snapshot of the requirements as a baseline, and then use change control in an attempt to minimize the impact of any shifting requirements. Sometimes, however, these changes are a reality that the project sponsor has to accommodate. Agile Project Management methods help deal with these situations.

Participants in this 3-day session will learn the techniques of Agile Project Management through simulations and examples from real-world projects that used these methods to control changing requirements.

This course is a great stepping stone for someone who works or is looking to work in an Agile environment and is designed to meet the educational requirements for both the Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and the Certified Agile Project Manager (PMAC’s Cert.APM) exams and, prepares participants for the Scrum Master Exam Click on the following links for more information about these designations and exams:

Participants will be given access codes to an ACP-PMI Exam Simulator via email following the course. 

 

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

The cost of the course is

  • $1,237.35 ($1,095 + 13% HST) for PMI Lakeshore Ontario Chapter members.

  • $1,525.50 ($1,350+ 13% HST)  for other PMI Members/Others and Guests

  • Parking is complimentary.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Ori Schibi, MBA, PMP, PMI-PBA, Cert.APM, SMC, PMI-ACP

Ori Schibi has over 25 years’ experience providing practical new ways of managing projects and programs, and effectively dealing with challenges around organizational change, strategy, business analysis and PMOs. His experience includes driving process efficiencies, software implementations, project recoveries, project management skills assessments and complex programs that stabilize the business, create growth and value and lead sustainable change.

Ori has extensive experience working with large to mid-sized organizations in diverse industries. These industries include Telecoms, Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals and government agencies (Canada, US, the United Nations).

He is well-versed in several agile methods and teaches agile courses at the University of Toronto and in house for the City of Toronto. Ori was the principal consultant at eHealth Ontario in Q1 of 2017 assessing Agile readiness. He is currently the principal consultant at eHealth Ontario and Ministry of the Environment for Agile implementation.

Ori is the author of the book Managing Stakeholder Expectations for Project Success (J. Ross, 2013), as well as the book Effective PM-BA role Collaboration (2015). He is also the co-author (with Kevin Aguanno), of the upcoming book – Agile Business Analysis. The book provides new ideas on how to utilize business analysis skills and incorporate them effectively into agile projects. The book also explores new ways organizations, project and teams can benefit from having the role of a Business Analyst in agile projects.

 

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR PAYMENT?

Payment is by credit card ONLY. Payments by credit card are to be received no later than 12:00 Noon on May 28, 2018.

 

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

The deadline to send in a cancellation request for this course is May 16, 2018, 5:30 P.M.

All registered attendees are required to notify the PMI Lakeshore Chapter of any cancellations by sending an e-mail message to cancelpd@pmiloc.org with your cancellation request. Cancellation before this deadline is subject to an administration fee equal to 6% of the amount billed rounded off to the nearest dollar.

If you cancel your registration after the deadline there is no obligation for the refund of the registration fees. It is also not possible to transfer your registration to another event if you are unable to attend the event you have registered for.

 

HOW MANY SEATS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE COURSE?

 

Maximum capacity for this course is 30 participants. Registration is on a "first come-first served" basis. If less than the minimum register, we will be forced to cancel the course and will return payment to registered attendees. If we receive registration requests from more than 30 students, the balance will be put on a waiting list. A request for registration does not guarantee you a seat.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

Yes. The dress code is business casual (no denim, no jogging pants).

WILL LUNCH BE PROVIDED?

Continental breakfast, lunch and all day refreshments are included in the price for the course. If you have any special dietary requests, please complete the dietary needs section of the registration form.
