Board Members

Here are the executives of the PMI Lakeshore Chapter for the year 2016-17. For a description of their roles see Position Guides.

Mihaela Duceag, PMP
Chairperson


 
Mihaela Duceag is a Senior Project/Program Manager with over 20 years’ experience in an Information Technology environment, within various industries: Insurance, Health Care, Manufacturing, Distribution, Not-for-profit, Retail and Nuclear. She has a degree in Information Technology, and a Certificate in Management. She was a speaker at the PMI Leadership Institute Meeting 2014, Phoenix, AZ, and at the PMI Region 3 Summit 2015, Providence, RI; she is also an alumni of the PMI Leadership Master’s class, 2015.
Mihaela became a member of the PMI and the Lakeshore Chapter in 2007, and she has been volunteering in positions of increased responsibilities since 2009. She started volunteering as a team member for Symposium 2009, project manager - Symposium 2011 and project sponsor for the Symposium 2012. In addition, she had been on the Lakeshore Chapter’s Board of Directors as the Treasurer between 2012 to 2014, Senior Vice President in charge of Chapter’s operations in 2014, President, 2015/2016; she also co-sponsored the Career Day event in 2014.

 

Mihaela is passionate about project/program management, and organizational change management. She is customer centric and has an innovative and continuous improvement approach.

 

Mihaela is committed to work with the Board in defining and aligning the Chapter’s strategy with the PMI and in identifying new program opportunities that will benefit the Chapter’s members and volunteers.

Angelo Baratta, BCS, PMP
President


 
I have been a PM professional for over 25 years and a member of PMI for over 10 years serving as a current director and a Past President of the chapter. After a full career in active systems development, process improvement, and project management I am currently dedicated to the development of paradigm shifting frameworks for business process design and project design supported by interactive and experiential training programs.

The end goal is: Performance. Performance. Performance.

 

 

Abiola Lovell, PMP
Prime Director - 
Events


 

Abiola has been a member of the Project Management Institute since 2008; a Lakeshore Chapter member for seven years and volunteering since 2012. Prior to the Director, Events position, she served as Project Manager for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) working with several post-secondary institutions across Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Economics degree, a Post Graduate certificate in Marketing Management and earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation in 2011. Her professional experience in Tourism and Travel, Non-Profit, Logistics and other industries have shaped her for many different roles including managing projects and leading teams. Abiola enjoys giving back to the community, focusing on the development of others. Currently volunteering as a Math and English tutor, being involved in World Vision’s One Life Experience in 2006 and 30 Hour Famine in 2008 are great accomplishments. Abiola has attributed her success to great work ethics, dedication and the application of the project management methodology both at work and in her personal life.

Michael Ghobros, PMP, P.Eng

Professional Development

 

Michael Ghobros is serving as our Director of Professional Development. Mr. Ghobros is the head of a Global Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for efficiently and effectively delivering successful projects. Mr. Ghobros brings over 15 years of experience in Technology and Project Management. His background includes key roles with Nortel Networks, Softchoice and Brookfield Lepage Johnson Controls. Mr. Ghobros holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Automatic Control from Alexandria University and a Master of Engineering in Technology Innovation Management (TIM) from Carleton University. Mr. Ghobros is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Professional Engineer of Ontario (P. Eng).

 

Rishi Kumar, M.Sc. Eng., P.Eng., PMP, CMC, GSC, FE

Prime Director - Communications & Infrastructure

Rishi Kumar is a President and CEO of Global Educational and Consulting Services (GECS) and is an approved education provider by the Engineering Institute of Canada, Mr. Kumar is a licensed professional engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of Ontario, and holds various other professional certifications {PMP, CMC, GSC and others}. Since 1996, he conducted 500+ public, in-house seminars and full semester courses all over the globe through various universities (University of Toronto, Ryerson University, and Dalhousie University), construction associations. Presently, Mr. Kumar is serving as a member of Project Management Institute (PMI) Global-Ethics Review Committee (ERC) and served in various portfolios for PMI Lakeshore Chapter Board. Mr. Kumar is actively involved since 1996 with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and is serving in various committees and boards. Rishi is actively involved in providing coaching and mentoring services to PEO Mississauga, Skills for Change (SFC), ACCES Employment, DBNS, PMI Lakeshore and CMC in GTA.

 

 

Mohamed Ksaibati, MBA, PMP, ITIL

Prime Director - 
Marketing

 

Mohamed earned his MBA in 2013 (major in Consultancy), under graduate in Electronics Engineering, PMP in 2007 (joined the Lakeshore Chapter in the same year) CISM "Certified Information Security Manager" in 2008, ITIL in 2008, and few other technical certificates.

 

Mohamed is a project management consultant with over 25 years of experience, he started his career on the IT side of the fence and move the project management with a solid background in IT, he is carrying a proven record of exceeding expectations delivering IT projects for clients within various sectors including (Consulting, Banking, Insurance, and Telecom). Mohamed is a highly energetic, self-motivated, technology professional who strives for excellence, a goal oriented team player, mentor and motivator, effective communicator, and excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Mohamed has been volunteering since 2008, since then he contributed to a number of events and projects with Lakeshore Chapter to different portfolios of Membership, communication, and Marketing, he held VP of Marketing for since 2010, and get promoted to the Director of Marketing in 2016.

Mohamed is passionate about his career as a project management consultant, he strongly believes that project management is not only a job, career but a skill for life, he is eager to promote the profession with others including future student leaders.

 

Alison Munro, B. Math, M.Sc., PMP, ITIL

Membership

 

Alison holds a B.Math from Waterloo, a M.Sc. from Edinburgh, a Dipl.BA from Wilfrid Laurier, received her PMP certification in 2009, and ITIL v3 in 2012.

She became a member of PMI in 2006, and has been affiliated with the Lakeshore Chapter since 2012. For the past two years, she has volunteered with the Lakeshore Mentoring program, as a PMBoK Knowledge Area mentor.

 

Alison also served as Book Review Editor for the PMI Quality Community of Practice Book Club for 3 years, before the CoPs were disbanded. She served on the Board of the Executive Women’s Golf Association, GTA Chapter for 5 years, and is currently in her second year as the President of EWGA Canada. She is also a past board member of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association, Ontario Chapter, where she organized the Annual General Meeting and Conference. Alison enjoys outdoor activities, and volunteers as an event coordinator with the Toronto Outdoor Club.

 

Alison is a confident, energetic individual with more than 30 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning, systems analysis, project management and superior service delivery; a dedicated problem-solver who enjoys engaging with people to reach creative but practical solutions. Working in both the public and private sectors has provided her with insight into a wide-range of business functions, and the ability to work effectively with people at all organizational levels. Over her career, Alison has been a software engineer, a consultant, a research scientist, and a project manager. She is currently employed by the City of Vaughan, where she is in the process of setting up a Corporate Project Management Office.
Cherry Di Gregorio, BCS, PMP

Prime Director - 
Finance

Cherry Di Gregorio studied Computer Science at York University & University of Toronto. A software developer, she held positions as Accounting Manager, IT Manager and GM over a span of 30+ years. In July 2012, she joined PMI Lakeshore, receiving her PMP certification in September of the same year. She became a PMI Lakeshore Chapter volunteer in 2013 as AVP Contracts, then VP Finance in 2014, and Acting Finance Treasurer in June 2015.

As a new PMI Lakeshore volunteer, Cherry made recommendations regarding the Lakeshore Chapter’s document repository and prepared gap analysis for EFT implementation. As VP of Finance, Cherry assisted with budget preparation, invoicing, and accounts payables. Appointed by the Board to fill a vacancy, Cherry quickly transitioned into the Treasurer role, clearing the payable backlog, getting the board approval for the 2016 budget by December 2015, and taking a role in the development of the Lakeshore’s Travel and Expense Policy.

 

She holds office in several non-profit organizations and is a coordinator for a community centre in Toronto, Recording Secretary for an international women’s organization and former member of the GTIS Leadership team.
